Margie Gayle, Psy.D.

What I do.

For the past 20+ years, I’ve been working with people between the ages of 16 to 75 to help them find the inner strength and resources so that they can manage their stress and experience more health and wellbeing.  I teach them effective and efficient practices so that they build the capacity to handle stressful relationships and situations. No longer caught in the tangle of false beliefs about themselves, they transform and move forward towards their full potential.

My passion and motivation.

Being able to help people move past their stress and transform is one of the most rewarding endeavours I’ve ever undertaken.  I became an Integrative Body Psychotherapist (IBP) for many reasons.  Besides training me to become a competent therapist, this journey has helped me to get unstuck from my old patterns, taught me about love and relationships, and upped my enthusiasm for my life.

My calling.

I remember the day I realized that I’d found my calling.  I was in the IBP training program for personal growth. I was sitting with another student and we were looking at her earliest experiences and how they continued to create her present day reality.  I felt the warmth and expansiveness of compassion. In that moment, I knew the gift of being an IBP therapist.

I love my work.

Every time I’m able to help someone see the truth about who they really are, past their limiting sense of themselves, I fall in love with my work all over again.

My credentials.

In Canada, I am a “Registered Professional Counselor” with the Canadian Professional Counsellor’s Association.  In California, I’m a licensed Clinical Psychologist.

I was introduced to Integrative Body Psychotherapy (IBP) in 1995 and subsequently graduated from IBP’s three year, 400 hour, mental health professional program at the IBP Central Institute in Los Angeles.

Upon certification as an IBP practitioner, I underwent the 400 hour IBP Teacher Training program to become certified as an IBP teacher then attended two full years of the IBP graduate training program which emphasizes more advanced IBP therapeutic sessions, including relationships and sexuality.

Since 2016, I have been living in Vancouver, British Columbia and operate a private practice on Granville Street in the downtown core.
